A seedball is a mini ecosystem, protecting the seeds from birds, ants and slugs and giving them nutrition as they germinate and grow. Peat-free compost provides nutrition, while chilli powder deters slugs and snails from nibbling the seedlings. Seedballs are encased in an outer layer of clay which protects the seeds from predators. Each tin covers 1 metre square in a garden bed or 3-5 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball).
Seedball are delighted to launch this new mix with their favourite contemporary artist Yvonne Coomber. Inspired by the wildflowers growing outside of her studio in Devon, Yvonne has painted a canvas for Seedball called ‘Here Is Where All The Wildflowers Grow’. They’ve taken a section of this painting to create this totally gorgeous design for the Artist’s Meadow Tin, with the seed mix being of those flowers from the painting.
The proceeds from the sale of every tin go to the Wildlife Trusts – a totally inspiring conservation charity working to save our wild places while bringing people closer to nature.
Each ball contains approximately 30 seeds per ball from a mix of Common Poppy, Oxeye Daisy, Musk Mallow, Corn Marigold, Purple Field Scabious, Red Campion and White Cow Parsley.

Our Bird Mix is designed to feed the birds for you, and is a much more sustainable option to buying bagged bird feed!
The careful selection of plants will boost the food supply for a wide range of birds including goldfinches, blue tits, chaffinches, greenfinches, robins, starlings, increasing the number of birds seen in your garden. Whilst in bloom the flowers will attract insects that many birds feed on, while birds will also feed directly on the plants and seeds themselves.
