Foeniculum vulgare 'Purpureum'

A beautiful ornamental herb with delicate, feathery bronze-purple foliage and airy yellow flower umbels. Bronze Fennel brings colour, texture and movement to borders while also providing a valuable food source for pollinators and beneficial insects.

The aromatic foliage has a sweet aniseed flavour and can be used in salads, fish dishes, soups and herb teas. Later in the season, the flowers attract bees, hoverflies and butterflies, making it an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.

Tall and elegant, Bronze Fennel combines beautifully with grasses, dahlias, salvias and other prairie-style perennials, adding height and a soft, naturalistic feel to planting schemes.
