This year we’re celebrating the classic British cottage garden and the powerful role our gardens play in supporting biodiversity. From providing habitats for pollinators and wildlife to improving soil health, reducing waste, and lowering food miles, even the smallest gardens contribute to a wider green network. This year’s original artwork shines a light on the responsibility we all share in protecting the natural world.
This bag size is ideal for top dressing small to medium indoor plant pots. Great for cacti, succulents and houseplants. Alternatively you can mix the shells into soil or compost to improve drainage and aeration.
Our Potting Cup is the perfect tool for scooping and decanting shells and other substrates.

Having only just found Shell on Earth at a local garden centre and bought the super crushed shells, we needed something to go on top of a new wooden container we had put a gorgeous acer in, these crushed shells look beautiful against the wooden container and the purple and white flowers and foliage. My cats liked the very slight 'fishy seaside smell' and were very interested for a bit, but that soon goes. Would definately recommend to boost the look of any container.
Excellent use of something natural that would normally be thrown away and can now be used as something really environmentally friendly and sustainable. Used the shells to cover soil in various pot plants in the garden, including hostas which every year get attacked and eaten, so looking for positive results this year.
After using many buckets of these ourselves, we purchased this bag as a gift for a close friend. The pretty bag makes these the ideal gift for any keen gardener, and they were a huge hit. I'm pretty sure you now have another new customer! 😁
Purchased a bag of crushed whelk shells, they are so lovely , just sets the plants off, even the snails having trouble nibbling my plants ! Will definitely be buying again! Great service too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautiful stuff has a gleam about and is keeping the slugs Wy from my young plants. I love that it is natural and a by product of rhe food industry.
