Echeveria elegans, commonly known as Mexican Snowball or White Mexican Rose, is a beautiful and relatively easy-to-care-for succulent, perfect for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts. 
 
Rosette Shape: Forms compact rosettes of fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves.
Leaf Colour: The leaves are typically pale green to bluish-green, with a soft, waxy coating (farina) that protects them from the sun. They can also develop attractive pink tips under high light levels.
Flowers: In spring, it produces tall flower stalks with delicate, bell-shaped flowers, typically pink or coral with yellow tips.
Clumping Habit: Echeveria elegans readily produces offsets (new plantlets) that form ever-expanding clumps over time.
Size: Individual rosettes typically grow up to 10cm in height, and the clumps can spread up to 0.5 meters. 
 
Light: Needs bright, direct sunlight for at least 4-6 hours daily to maintain its compact shape and vibrant colour. Indoor plants thrive near a south or west-facing window.
Watering: Drought-tolerant. Water thoroughly when the soil has completely dried out, then allow it to dry again before the next watering. Reduce watering during winter dormancy.
Soil: Requires well-draining, gritty soil. A cactus or succulent potting mix is ideal, or you can create your own by adding perlite or coarse sand to a standard potting mix.
Temperature: Prefers warm, dry conditions. Protect from frost and temperatures below 5°C.
Fertilizing: Does not require heavy feeding. Fertilise sparingly (once a month) during the growing season (April to September) with a diluted cactus or succulent fertiliser.
Pruning: No regular pruning is needed. Remove dead or damaged lower leaves as they occur.
Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years, or when the plant has outgrown its pot.
Pests: Generally disease-free, but may be susceptible to mealybugs, aphids, and vine weevils. 
 
Houseplant: Excellent as an easy-care indoor plant.
Outdoor Container Plant: Ideal for patio and container gardens in warmer climates.
Rock Garden: Adds texture and visual interest to rock gardens.
