  • About Lemon Balm

Lemon balm is a perennial herb that forms a bushy plant with fragrant lemon-scented leaves and creamy-white or pale purple flowers that bloom in summer. It thrives in both sunny and lightly shaded areas and is quite easy to cultivate. The leaves can add a delightful lemony flavour to salads, sauces, and fish dishes, and can also be used to brew a refreshing herbal tea.

    In The Records

The name Lemon Balm is derived from the Greek word "mélissa" or "mélitta," which means bee and is itself derived from "meli," meaning honey. "Officinalis" is a New Latin term that means "used in pharmacy." In ancient times, Lemon Balm was grown as a food source for bees.
