This multi--functional garden tool is a knife, saw and digging tool all in one. It can also be used to replant seedlings or as a measuring tool when planting bulbs (using the cm and inch markings on the blade to measure the depth).
The Hori Hori knife first appeared in Japan during the Middle Ages around the 16th century. The word ‘Hori’ means ‘to dig’ in Japanese. Its bent ridged and razor-sharp blade make this knife perfect for digging or cutting through roots or hard soil.
Made from high quality steel and an ash wood grip. The sheath includes a loop, enabling you to add it to a belt.

This thing is fantastic for cutting through a tangled snarl of roots, especially in plant pots - you know the kind: the plant has met its maker and insists on clinging to the sides of a much valued pot that you don't want to break. With this baby you slip it down the sides of pot and the plant pops out. The centimetre and inches markings on the side of the knife ensure you can dig a seedling hole to the right depth. Would not be without this equipment.
I have placed it on a leather belt, and wear it around my hips. It’s always to hand whilst pottering in the garden, ready whenever I need to remove a weed, plant a bulb or seedling, even to saw through a thin bough.
I have hard clay soil and it’s strong enough to break into it, better than my trowel.
Also, I feel like Lara Croft when I am wearing it 😂
this is to replace my old one... I think i was too enthusiastic at how great this knife is, and i managed to snap the previous one trying to get bramble roots out. This is fab for loosening around plants i want to move around, to tidy easily... and to plant bulbs at the correct depth. So happy to get my second Hori Hori!
This tool is excellent, it arrived just in time for helping me split a huge plant in the garden. It went through the root like a knife through butter! Also great to get root bound plants out pots and digging it tough soil. 5 ✨️
How have I managed without this tool in my life. It's excellent at dealing with difficult roots, delivery process was very quick & efficient. Highly recommend for all gardeners new and more experienced.
